“Differentiated Instruction and the Brain

During this workshop, participants will learn about how the brain works. By understanding cognitive and emotional processes at the neural level, participants will discover how to promote student learning and how to differentiate instruction. Brain-friendly strategies to support instruction will be explored. Two essential questions will be considered: What should we differentiate? How do we differentiate?

As we launch Guiare with new plans and new services starting in the year 2012, we want to create a virtual learning community for teachers, administrators, and parents. We will be discussing what we do, where we go, and information regarding education which may be of interest to all of you.

Today I wanted to share with you that Costa Rica, first country in Central America that participates in the PISA test, scored as high as Chile, leader in education in Latin America, but behind Asian countries.

PISA is an international comparative survey of 15 year olds Knowledge and skills in Reading, mathematics, and science that are required to function as successful members of society.

Do you think that Costa Ricans should feel proud of these results or should Costa Ricans do something about improving in these areas?
