Meet our great team

In 1989 Alda co-founded Blue Valley School in San Jose, Costa Rica. She actively participated in the design and conception of the educational philosophy, programs, and policies of the school. She started as an elementary teacher, then curriculum coordinator, and in 1999 assumed the position of Academic and Administrative Elementary School Principal. It was here where she developed the curriculum, staff development programs, and used her leadership abilities to guide a group of 80 professionals and more than 350 students to achieve the established goals in a fast growing school. In her supervisory role of the Montessori preschool, she guaranteed the proper implementation of this philosophy by all teachers and assistants. Alda was part of the team that headed the BVS accreditation and reaccreditation processes for NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges).

Publications: Coauthored an English program called Language Links for Steck Vaughn. Coauthored a Reading Methods Textbook for the Universidad Nacional a Distancia (UNED) in Costa Rica called “Lenguaje en Construcción I y II”, published December 2011. She is a member of the advisory council for “Libros para todos”, an initiative from Grupo Nación to provide inexpensive textbooks for poor schools in Costa Rica.

After graduating with Honors with a BA in Sociology/Anthropolgy from Chatham College and an Elementary Teaching Certificate issued by the state of Pennsylvania, and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Framingham College in Massachusetts. Alda has been involved in education for more than 30 years

Publications: Coauthored an English program called Language Links for Steck Vaughn. In 2002 she got her Master’s Degree in Arts of Teaching from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Arizona.
She was the English Language Learner Facilitator at Tom Williams Elementary School in Las Vegas Nevada from 1997 through 2002. To be able to have this position she needed to get certified as a Bilingual teacher, having to complete 12 credit hours of University courses specifically designed to promote English language acquisition. During this year her job as Facilitator required that she train teachers to use different strategies and techniques to help their language learner students in the classroom. This experience helped her see how important and how much she enjoyed training adults.
When she returned to Costa Rica she worked in Universidad Latina teaching different courses in her Bilingual Preschool Education program, as well as to help supervise students that were working on her professional practice experience.

She has welcomed the challenge in different schools offering alternatives and adjusting programs to help meet the needs present in the classroom. She has enjoyed training, guiding and preparing professional and soon to be teachers at the university level.
Anadylia graduated with honors with a Masters degree in Education with emphasis on Special Education from University of Elon, North Carolina. She also has a Masters in School Adminsitration from Universidad de La Salle, Costa Rica.
At present she is Academic Director at Trinity Primary and High School in San Joaquín de Flores and professor at the School of Education at Universidad Hispanoamericana.
Anadylia has been a speaker at international conferences on education.

Yolanda worked for over thirty years at Saint Anthony School as a bilingual preschool teacher where she specialized in the implementation of literacy programs. In addition to this, she combined all her responsibilities as an educator with other positions of founder, coordinator and/or promoter of UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) programs (Primary institutional level 1990-1995), “Around the World” (Level Preschool 2001-2018), “Geography and Cultures” (Primary Institutional Level 2002-2007), “Ecological Blue Flag for Educational Centers” (National Level 2001-2018), and founder and director of the Ludoteca Pedagógica Metro y Medio (2001- 2003). One of the most significant achievements in her career was the recognition at the national level by the Ministry of Public Education as “Environmental Manager for Educational Centers” for her hard work and effort in creating an ecological awareness in the student population of Costa Rica.
Yolanda graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Preschool Education from the Universidad Autónoma de Centroamérica in 1992 and obtained her Master’s Degree from the Universidad Santa Paula in “Early Stimulation”, with honors for her thesis “Tactile stimulation as support in the process of Literacy for Children with Sensory Integrative Dysfunction” in 2016.
In 2019 she joined Guiare’s team of facilitators, doing both on site and virtual workshops to teachers from all over the country.

Has a BA in Preschool Education from Universidad Nacional (1990-2000), a Masters Degree in teaching from Universidad Americana (2018) and Coaching certificate from TISOC, Barcelona, Spain (2017). She worked as a preschool and elementary school teacher in high-risk public schools giving academic support to children with learning difficulties. (1995-2007)
Coordinated the Aprender y Crecer Program nationally (Price-Smartñ 2007-2015) where she implemented strategies to reach the esetablished goals.
Coolaborates with Fundación DA, helping and advising families and students diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and learning difficulties.
Joined the Guiare team in 2015. Has given workshops in Spanish in Costa Rica and internationally.
